Powerboating for those under 16
From the age of 8 you can take our Level 1 Powerboat Course, and from the age of 14 you can take the Level 2 course. You will be taught in suitable boats that aren’t too big or heavy for you to handle, and your course will be adapted to suit your age and ability.
Powerboating is great fun and you can be driving the boat yourself in no time, practicing skills at high and low speed, and learning how to stay safe on the water.
After your course you will able to drive a powerboat under the supervision of an adult, your certificate will be endorsed to state this. From the age of 16 you can progress within our training scheme.
RIB Competition
If you have really got the bug for powerboating why not prove your skills or have a go at racing. Go to Dinghy sailing/cadets/youth rib competition for more.
You can also use RYA powerboat courses to work towards Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
