Increasingly insurers require a level 2 certificate to demonstrate their ability. Many boat owners after years of experience already have this level of ability. This short assessment allows such candidates to achieve the certificate without paying for a 2 day course to teach you what you already know.
Pre-course experience You should be a Self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions: whilst aware of own limitations and those of craft. You should have knowledge of collision regulations, anchoring mooring and basic navigation. You should be able to undertake high speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and coming alongside

Minimum age 14. Candidates under the age of 16 will be issued an endorsed certificate (exceptionally candidates may be accepted aged between 12 and 14 at our discretion, dependant on maturity)
